Created in 1924 as a private home, then later transformed into a country house hotel, the name Rufflets comes from the land the hotel sits on which was known as the “Ruch (pronounced ruff) Flets” which in old Scots tongue means ‘rough, flat lands’.
Accommodation Options
Within the Hotel, you have a choice of bedrooms and suites. Every bedroom has its own unique shape, size and personality. Most of the bedrooms look out onto Rufflet’s gardens or wooded front to ensure a calm and tranquil environment. There are 23 bedrooms in total ranging from Standard to Classic to Superior to Turret Rooms. Some of the bedrooms have bay windows and private balconies.
There are two Turret Rooms which offer turret seats, four-poster beds, glorious views and a private balcony. Luxury and glamor all rolled into one!
Located in the Grounds of Rufflets St Andrews is a beautiful private lodge, Kinness Luxury Lodge, which is proving very popular with our clients. It is designed for up to 8 adults and offers relaxed, social communal spaces in additional to 4 en- suite bedrooms and plenty storage for your golf clubs. Kinness Lodge is a self catering lodge with a modern dining kitchen or you can dine in the restaurant in the main hotel.

Rufflets St Andrews offer a sophisticated but relaxed restaurant, with cozy booths and gorgeous views to the gardens. You are also encouraged to take advantage of the 10 acres and eat outside. The menus draw the best Scottish produce together with fresh herbs, fruit and vegetables grown in their kitchen gardens. Or hunker down for the night in a cozy corner, next to the roaring fire and enjoy a tipple from the whiskey selection. More than 100 malt whiskey and 40 gins to choose from.

What a perfect vacation with 5 beautiful days of golf. Nicola was great. She ensured we were in the Old Course balloting-system and that we were also checked in for the Old Course singles daily lottery. I was fortunate to secure two opportunities to play the Old Course. Nicola went out her way many times, including traveling back to pick me up from another course to ensure I made my Old Course check in time. She also meet up with me on the 18th tee to follow me in while taking pictures of a very memorable experience. ProScotGolf provides exceptional customer service and value. I will be planning my next trip soon.

Read moreProScot organized and carried out a wonderful trip to St Andrews for my group. They provided everything we asked for and more. We stayed at The Saint, a small but very comfortable place with lovely food and a warm local Scottish atmosphere. All arrangements for golf were set up as we asked. Two of our group played the Old Course through the on site queue.
I am particularly grateful for the kind attention from Nicola Scott who facilitated our days. She was diligent in working with our friends looking to get onto the Old Course…she even made an extra round trip to Lundin Links at the last minute so one could make a last minute opportunity to play.
I highly recommend them for a quality golf trip to Scotland.

Absolutely the best! Everyone at ProScot (John, Nicola, Patricia) were exceptionally professional, friendly, and helpful.
The tour they put together for us was incredible. Our accommodations in St Andrews we’re top notch. The golf courses were fabulous. Drivers were always on time!
They made sure we had everything we needed from snacks to drinks and were willing to be flexible in terms of schedule
They setup dinner reservations at amazing restaurants, and were able to provide advice on just about anything in the area.
