Golf

St Andrews New Course - Founded 1895

The oldest ‘new’ course in the world, the second course at the Home of Golf was built by the Keeper of the Green Tom Morris in 1895 and it was imaginatively named to differentiate from its famous neighbour. Boasting undulating fairways and challenging greens, the New Course is a classic test of Links golf.

St Andrews Jubilee Course

Closest to the West Sands, The Jubilee is arguably the toughest test in St Andrews, with numerous challenging driving holes to negotiate. Its position at the point of the estuary makes The Jubilee the most exposed to the elements, most notably so on the tee at the par-3 ninth, facing a long iron into a rock-hard green. The closing stretch features a succession of difficult par-fours, where holding together a score is as tough as it gets.

The Duke's, St Andrews

With a spectacular setting above St Andrews, the championship course at The Duke’s gives magnificent panoramic views over the surrounding countryside to the sea.

The Duke’s is highly regarded as one of the finest heathland championship courses in the British Isles and a must-play course for any golfer. Its style ranks alongside the great inland challenges, which demand accuracy and inventive play as well as power golf. And with five separate tee positions at every hole, The Duke’s has the flexibility and challenge to appeal to golfers at every level, with the venue being chosen to host the 2014 International European Amateur Championship, one of the four majors in the world of amateur golf.
