Carnoustie Championship Link

(Host to the 2018 Open Championship)

The game of golf has been played in Carnoustie for well over four centuries. In 2018 Francesco Molinari clinched his maiden major title with victory at The Open Championship at Carnoustie. The red-hot Italian was playing alongside Tiger Woods in the final round and carded a superb bogey-free 69 to reach 8-under par and seal a two-stroke win over England’s Justin Rose, Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy and America’s Xander Schauffele and Kevin Kisner.

Carnoustie Burnside Links

The Burnside is often overshadowed by its illustrious neighbour but it oozes character and from the back tees is a splendid test of golf. Many of the short holes would compare with any Championship Course providing dramatic challenges for the player who strives to gain his par.

The finish is also strong with the 17th proving to be one of the hardest par 4’s that can be found anywhere in golf and many a score has been ruined by the out of bounds fence at the 18th.

It was here in 1953 where the great Ben Hogan shot 70 to help him qualify for the Open Championship which he subsequently won.

Carnoustie Buddon Links

The newest of the three courses at Carnoustie originally designed by Peter Alliss and the late Dave Thomas the course was opened in 1979. Since then many changes have taken place including the most recent $1m investment in two new holes bringing the course up to a very testing par 68.

Panmure Links

Panmure is one of the oldest golf clubs in the world dating back to 1845, a James Braid influenced golf course which combines the best elements of links and heath, with tight fairways, challenging carries and compact, undulating greens.  Panmure was the host club to regional qualifying for the Open at Carnoustie.
